Who’s News: Management Updates at Quantum Brilliance, Terra Quantum, QuSecure, Quantum Computing Inc., and SandboxAQ – Quantum Computing Report

Quantum Brilliance has named Mark Luo as their Chief Executive Officer and former CEO, Andrew Horsley, has now taken the role of Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Luo was a co-founder of Quantum Brilliance and previously was the Chief Operating Officer. Before that he was the New Ventures Manager for Australia’s National Science Agency, CSIRO‘s “ON Program,” Australia’s largest National Accelerator. Dr. Horsley was previously the CEO and also a co-founder of the company. And before that he spent several years researching diamond quantum computing technology at the Australian National University and the University of Stuttgart. Terra Quantum has announced that Dr. Eike Marx has joined the company as their first Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategic Officer. Dr. Marx has a background in both physics where he earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge (Cavendish Laboratory, UK) and also finance where he most recently head a position as Managing Director at Arma Partners, a London-based investment banking firm. QuSecure has named Aaron Moore as their Executive Vice President of Engineering responsible for leading the company’s engineering and software development activities. Mr. Moore has 30 years of R&D and technical executive experience at commercial companies including Raytheon, Northrup Grumman, Harris Corporation, SAIC, and others as well as many years of government service at DARPA, National Reconnaissance Office, National Security Agency, Missile Defense Agency, and the U.S. Army. Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) has appointed Dr. Brian LaMacchia to the company’s Technical Advisory Board. Dr. LaMacchia is an expert in cybersecurity and cryptography. He recently retired from Microsoft where he spent 25 years, most recently as the leader of the Security and Cryptography team at Microsoft Research. He will be advising QCI on the development and strategic positioning of their photonic technology including its many applications to cryptography and computer security. And SandboxAQ has announced that Teresa Shea will become a senior advisor to the company’s Global Public Sector team. She has over 38 years of experience in intelligence, cybersecurity, and defense with experience at Raytheon Intelligence and Space, In-Q-Tel, and 32 years at the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) where her last position was as the Director of Signals Intelligence.
