Haiti - Port of Saint-Louis du Sud : The ship Cygnus finally authorized to unload its goods image

After 6 days of ban on unloading its cement cargo from the Cygnus ship coming from Colombia https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40893-haiti-port-of-saint-louis-du-sud-strange-customs-ban-on-the-unloading-of-82-000-bags-of-cement.html docked at the quay of the Port of Saint-Louis du Sud, Michel Patrick Boisvert, the Minister of the Economy and Finance has finally authorized the disembarkation of 82,000 bags of cement from the Cygnus confirmed to the media on Tuesday November 7, 2023 Ketnor Estinvi, Departmental Delegate of the South.

The latter specified that the customs agents of Miragoâne had been instructed by the Minister to carry out the usual inspection in order to allow the unloading of its cargo if the ship is in order… adding “Although the Port has not yet had a international operating permit”. A reason which is not the right one since previously, several ships have already docked at the Port of Saint-Louis du Sud without opposition or ban…

More than one informed observer does not hesitate to see in this situation the result of the “latent” conflict between the “Republic” of Port-au-Prince and the Port of Saint-Louis du Sud. The Capital does not look favorably on the opening up of the Southern Peninsula…
