LG Electronics is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:
REVENUE: The South Korean consumer-electronics giant’s preliminary forecast is for revenue to have risen 5.9% on year to KRW23.157 trillion ($17.29 billion) in the quarter ended December. The company is expected to post net profit of KRW219.61 billion in the quarter, according to a FactSet-compiled consensus forecast based on estimates from 10 analysts.
WHAT TO WATCH:
–Investors are looking to see if LG Electronics remained profitable in the quarter in a show of resilience, despite challenges from a slow recovery in demand for home appliances.
–The projected quarterly result would mark a turnaround from net loss a year earlier, despite narrowing from the third quarter.
–The company’s fast-growing vehicle-part segment will be of interest to investors. Analysts see revenue from the segment topping KRW10 trillion in 2023, helping the company sustain solid growth. LG Electronics expects to post annual record revenue of KRW84.280 trillion for 2023.
