UPPER POTTSGROVE — The students of GreenAllies, managers of the Althouse Arboretum, will host an electronics/appliance/metal and more recycling event at the Hillside Aquatic Club, 134 W. Moyer Road, on Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is a $10 donation per vehicle (unlimited amount). The recycling day is open to every household throughout the region and some charges do apply.

This is one of the few programs available to properly recycle electronics. The group also will collect scrap metal, appliances, and new this year, old bicycles and clean plastic grocery bags.

For the safety of student volunteers and participants, this event will be a “drive-through drop-off.” Everyone is asked to remain in their vehicles and let student volunteers unload the items.

There is an additional charge for TVs, microwaves, and computer monitors to cover a disposal fee charged by the company.  All materials will be recycled by PAR Recycling Services.
