ICP DAS PCI-TMC12AU universal timer/counter board

ICP Electronics Australia has launched the ICP DAS PCI-TMC12AU, a timer/counter board designed for versatile applications in both industrial and laboratory settings. This board features a Universal PCI interface, compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI buses, ensuring broad compatibility across various systems.

Equipped with four onboard 8254 timer/counter chips, the timer/counter board offers 12 independent 16-bit timers/counters. These timers/counters can be further cascaded to create 32/48-bit timers/counters, offering precision and flexibility for complex timing and counting tasks. The board also comes with 12 external clock input channels and the same number of timer/counter output channels, facilitating intricate timing and control operations.

The timer/counter board features a flexible interrupt mechanism with four interrupt sources. It incorporates two internal clock sources, to provide timing references. Additionally, the card supports a gate input that can be sourced either externally or from a previous timer/counter output, adding to its versatility.

For digital interfacing, the card is equipped with 16-channel, 5 V/TTL digital input and output, supporting a range of digital devices. The inclusion of Card ID support via an SMD switch and DO status readback functionality enhances the ease of integration and monitoring.

Compliance with CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE standards enables the timer/counter board to meet quality and environmental standards, making it suitable for professional applications. Its design is particularly suited for tasks such as pulse/event/switch-toggle counting, frequency readings, elapsed time measurement, pulse-width measurement, PWM output, and pulse (square wave) and rate generation.
