Opanga Networks appointed Cole Brodman as CEO

Former T-Mobile CTO Joins to Lead Next Chapter of Growth and New AI/ML Platform Launch, Opanga RAIN™; Innovative Platform Designed to Drive Network Optimization, Sustainability and Cost Savings

Opanga Networks, Inc., an industry leader in AI/ML-powered network performance and efficiency technology, announced today that Cole Brodman has been appointed CEO, following the retirement of founder and CEO Dave Gibbons, who remains on the Board of Directors. In his position, Brodman will oversee Opanga’s expansion with operators in new regions and lead the launch of the company’s breakthrough machine learning and artificial intelligence platform, Opanga RAIN.

Mr. Brodman brings more than 30 years of experience in the wireless and telecommunications industry, including having previously served as CTO and CMO for T-Mobile USA, where he played a key role in the company’s IPO and subsequent growth to become one of the most successful challenger wireless operators in the world. Having served as a member on Opanga’s Board of Directors for the past eight years, working closely with Mr. Gibbons on several key programs, Mr. Brodman is deeply familiar with the company’s core mission and its industry-changing technology.

“I’m honored to join Opanga Networks as CEO after serving on its board and seeing firsthand the value of its platform in the wireless industry,” said Mr. Brodman. “This is a truly pivotal time in mobile network deployments globally, as operators are adjusting their approach to provide a more optimized, sustainable and cost-efficient product. With our innovative approach to optimizing networks with AI and ML-powered software, Opanga is well-positioned to continue to meet and exceed the needs of operators, regardless of their size or location.”

As traffic volumes grow, energy costs soar and interest rates reach new highs, efficiency becomes increasingly important for mobile and fixed wireless operators. The industry is entering a software driven automation era, replacing a “build-a-bigger network” mentality. As a result, Opanga is now offering its hardware-agnostic, AI/ML-powered optimization technology as an all-in-one platform for operators, Opanga RAIN. It offers a range of available applications that will make networks smarter, faster and more sustainable, including:

Peregrine™: An optimization application using AI/ML protocols installed on the core of a mobile operator’s network to maximize RAN performance.Joule™: A sustainability application that dramatically reduces energy consumption using a closed-loop AI-powered RAN solution that creates bandwidth-on-demand at the cell tower, while assuring optimal customer experience.Merlin™: An intelligence application that illuminates the truth of your network traffic and provides actionable recommendations.

Opanga’s industry-leading RAN Optimization technology has been deployed globally with Tier One operators, both directly and through its partnership with Cisco Systems. Opanga’s Joule application is currently in trials with a Tier One operator in Europe. The platform has delivered the capability to increase network efficiency and performance by as much as 40 percent in live networks.
